Strategic Partners are integral to Glimmer Austin’s mission, representing a select group of larger grant recipients with whom we maintain multiple, close working relationships. These partnerships go beyond financial support, they involve deep collaboration and continuous engagement with their leadership teams.

Homelessness

Community First! Village is a master planned neighborhood that provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for men and women who are coming out of chronic homelessness. A development of Mobile Loaves & Fishes, this transformative residential program exists to love and serve our neighbors who have been living on the streets, while also empowering the surrounding community into a lifestyle of service with the homeless.

 

The Other Ones Foundation (TOOF) provides emergency shelter, low-barrier work opportunities, and supportive services to people experiencing homelessness in Austin, Texas. Their mission is to build a community where no one is marginalized and everyone is valued.

 

Sunrise Homeless Navigation Center is the largest provider of homeless services in Travis County. They offer low-barrier, trauma-informed wraparound support to bridge the gap between basic survival needs and permanent housing.

 

LifeWorks Austin is a prominent nonprofit organization in Austin, Texas, dedicated to solving youth homelessness and supporting families. They provide comprehensive assistance to youth, young adults, and young families navigating homelessness, foster care transitions, or trauma.

Hunger

Keep Austin Fed is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization in Austin, Texas, that reduces hunger and environmental waste by rescuing wholesome surplus food from commercial kitchens, grocery stores, and caterers, and redistributing it to local people facing food insecurity.

 

Meals on Wheels is a community-based program that delivers nutritious meals directly to the homes of older adults and people with disabilities who struggle to prepare their own food. Beyond food delivery, volunteers provide vital social connections and safety checks.

 

El Buen Samaritano offers services to improve access to healthcare, education, and the essential needs that lead to healthy, productive, and secure lives.

Women & Children

The SAFE Alliance exists to stop abuse for everyone by serving the survivors of child abuse, sexual assault and exploitation, and domestic violence. We are dedicated to ending violence through prevention, advocacy, and comprehensive services for individuals, families, and communities that have been affected by abuse.

 

Saint Louise House is dedicated to the success of women and their children as they move from homelessness to healthy, independent lives. They strive to empower women and their children to overcome homelessness for generations to come.

 

Jeremiah Program serves single moms and their children experiencing poverty in Austin, Texas. Our mission is to disrupt the cycle of poverty for single mothers and their children, two generations at a time. JP believes that no mother should have to choose between investing in herself and her children.

 

Casa Marianella welcomes displaced immigrants and asylum seekers and promotes self-sufficiency by providing shelter and support services. In addition to shelter, Casa offers access to legal and medical resources, food, clothing, English classes, and other essential services. The majority of our residents come to us directly from detention centers.

 

Addiction Recovery

Recovery Outside helps people in recovery from addiction and mental health challenges by connecting them with outdoor activities and a supportive sober community. Their mission is to build community, promote healing, and support long-term recovery through nature-based experiences.
