We are excited to share with you the new programs that have been selected to receive grants this summer:
Austin Baptist Church Angel House Soup Kitchen
Angel House is the Soup Kitchen Ministry of the Austin Baptist Chapel. They provide daily hot meals and basic needs to people experiencing homelessness. G|A will be awarding Angel House $10,000 for general operations in order to support their efforts.
Jails To Jobs
Jails to Job’s mission is to stop the cycle of incarceration for youths in Central Texas. They offer case management, job opportunities, and other services to young adults, aged 14 – 24 years old, who are experiencing homelessness. G|A will be awarding Jails to Jobs $25,000 for general operations to continue improving their programming.
Meals on Wheels Central Texas
Meals on Wheels improves the health and quality of living of the elderly, so they are not left hungry or isolated. G|A will be awarding Meals on Wheels $25,000 to hire a new delivery driver to deliver meals to their clients.
Sunrise Navigation Center
Sunrise Navigation Center builds relationships with individuals who are experiencing homelessness. They provide case management, mental health assistance, meals, and basic needs items. G|A will be awarding Sunrise Navigation Center $25,000 for general operations and to aid with the growth of their organization.
Jeremiah Program Austin
JP Austin believes that the impacts of poverty and systemic racism can be disrupted through a two-generation (2Gen) approach – investing in a single mother’s vision for her future and the education of her children. G|A will be awarding JP $25,000 to support overall organizational growth to serve 40 new families.
SAFE
The mission of SAFE is to provide housing security and support to foster youths leaving foster care, so they do not end up homeless. G|A will be awarding SAFE $50,000 to primarily support a new Youth Housing Navigator position, in order to build relationships and provide stability for the youths who are leaving foster care.
