As many of you might know, our construction of a transformational complex has begun! This month, TXDOT took down some older structures to start making room for our impending project. At the same time, with the help of
Glimmer Austin
we began building temporary shelters to house people who were displaced in these demolitions. These temporary shelters will continue to house groups of Esperanza residents as folks move around on site to make room for more and more shelter units. And, as always, the work being done here is being performed by unhoused community members being paid $15/hr.
