Save The Food Austin works to reduce food insecurity by providing to those in need while also reducing food waste. On average, the organization does about 44 grocery store pickups per week and saved around $100,000 worth of food in the last quarter of 2020.
Their work wouldn’t be possible without the dedicated work of their amazing volunteers. Our grant will go towards managing the rapid expansion this project has been experiencing. The funding will go toward things like providing additional resources (such as cooling equipment) as well as an initial salary for program managers.
